Overcoming Fear in Business: Your Bold Start to 2026
As we head into the new year, I’ve been reflecting on the biggest obstacle I’ve faced in business. It wasn’t lack of skills, bad timing, or even money – your guide to overcoming fear in business
Fear has stopped me more than anything else—fear of getting it wrong, fear of what people will think, and fear of becoming “too much” or “not enough.”
One realisation shifted everything for me:
Some people will never like you. And that’s not your problem.
The 20/60/20 Rule That Changes Everything
There’s a rule I wish I’d learned years ago—one that will give you a huge advantage if you take it seriously:
- 20% will support you no matter what
- 60% don’t mind either way and will buy if the offer fits
- 20% will criticise you regardless of your actions
Most entrepreneurs spend years trying to win over that last group, even though that energy is never returned.
When you stop performing for people who don’t matter, something shifts. Your confidence grows, your decisions become clearer, and you finally do the work you’re capable of.
Why Regret Is Worse Than Failure
Here’s something to consider: What’s the worst that could happen if you try and fail?
You learn, adjust, and try again.
Regret, however, lingers. Looking back in five years and wondering what might have been comes at a far higher cost than a temporary setback.
Your voice, your story, and your unique way of doing things aren’t flaws. They’re your advantage because no one else has your combination of experience and perspective.
Being disliked for being yourself is always better than being liked for pretending.
Overcoming fear in business – A Braver Start to 2026
As 2026 approaches, I’m challenging both of us to act with a little more bravery. Speak up. Take the step you’ve been putting off. Stop waiting for perfect timing or permission that isn’t coming.
Your next chapter is already waiting—just on the other side of fear and GO International will support you all the way!!
Here’s to a bold new year,
George
P.S. If this message resonated with you, let me know. And if it didn’t, you might just be in that 20%—and that’s perfectly fine too. 😉
